A beautifully ironed shirt is best stored hanging in a wardrobe, but space being an issue or travelling may make it necessary to fold shirts in a way that they are not too badly creased afterwards. The use of tissue paper is helpful; it will give the shirt stability and help to reduce creases at the fold lines.

Turn the shirt onto its front and put a piece of tissue paper on its back. Fold the shoulder to the centre back and ankle the sleeve down to the hem together with the tissue paper, repeat with other shoulder. Fold the bottom of the shirt together with the cuffs just above the cuffs up towards the collar and fold the remaining shirt length in half, covering the collar totally to protect it. Turn the shirt over and straighten the chest if necessary. |
